BA in Graphic Designer from IPEVE, Universidad Diego Portales, Chile, and self-taught typeface designer. Professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

His book «Educación Tipográfica, una introducción a la tipografía», was published in Chile in 2004 and in Argentina in 2005.

His typeface «Australis» won the Gold Prize at Morisawa Awards 2002, in Japan. «elemental» won the Altazor Prize in 2002, and «Amster Pro» was awarded with two «Constancia de Excelencia» recognitions in Tipos Latinos Biennale in 2008 and 2014.

He has designed typefaces for several projects, such as «La Discusión» newspaper, from Chillán, Chile, in 2008. Together with Rodrigo Ramírez, he designed fonts for «La Cuarta» newspaper in 2009, for Santiago’s Public Transport in 2003-2015, and for Chile’s highway system «RutaCL» in 2012.

He is a partner in Frescotype and AGR, studios specializing in typeface, editorial, branding and information design. Among his most relevant work are logotypes for ‘Paula’ magazine, ‘Emiliana’ and ‘Concha y Toro’ vineyards, and the art direction for ‘Rita’ trattoria and ‘Puerto Bellavista’ restaurant.
